International Society for Fair Election and Democracy, Special Statement About The Interview Published in The Newspaper

International Society for Fair Elections and Democracy (ISFED) is concerned with the interview published in the newspaper \"Rezonansi\" #060(6992) on March 6, 2012. The interview with Nino Lomjaria, Executive Director of ISFED, titled \"Threat of Fraud 40%\" misquotes the comments made by Mrs. Lomjaria and presents their wrong interpretation.

Namely, the article states as if Nino Lomjaria believes that the government is able to manipulate with 40% of electoral votes and assesses that guarantees of ruling party willing elections is greater than of opposition. Besides, her comment on the possible categories of misuse of administrative resources is interpreted as her anticipation of high possibility of the government using the administrative resources in order to achieve better results in elections.

International Society for Fair Elections and Democracy underlines that the abovementioned statements do not match the views expressed by Mrs. Lomjaria. The printed interview represents incorrect coverage of the issue and spreads inaccurate interpretations that may result in delivering a distorted image to the society about the findings of Voters\' List Audit conducted by ISFED.

\"Resonansi\" has already pledged to print the corrected version of the interview in the next edition. ISFED hopes that, this time, the paper publishes accurate quotes and apologizes for misleading the readers.

Today, on March 6, 2012 at 22:00, Executive Director of ISFED Nino Lomjaria will speak about the interview and present the actual findings of the Voters\' List Audit in the talk show \"Dialogue\" with Davit Paichadze on the 1st Channel of Georgian Public Broadcaster.
