More than a thousand irregularities and violations in summary protocols reported at hundreds of polling stations

ISFED filed 116 complaints with DECs mostly seeking imposition of liability on commission members, abolishment of summary protocols at polling stations (21 cases) as well as annulment of polling results (10 cases).

Turnout for 17:00 in the entire country is 34.4%  according to ISFED’s PVT observation. ISFED notes that turnout at 17:00 is six percent lower than it was in the 2010 local elections (40.4%).

ISFED would like to highlight that turnout for the whole country is lower in this election (16.6% with a margin of error of +/-0.2% ) than it was in 2010 (19.9%).

Today, on June 10 , the International Society for Fair Elections and Democracy (ISFED) conducted a simulation of the Election Day monitoring methodology - Parallel Vote Tabulation (PVT). During one hour of the simulation 98 percent of observers successfully submitted their reports. PVT is an advanced monitoring methodology for evaluating the quality of the Election Day process. ISFED has successfully conducted seven PVTs, including the historic PVT during 2003 elections.

On June 6, the International Society for Fair Elections and Democracy published third interim report of monitoring the June 15, 2014 local self-government elections. The report covers the period from May 11 through June 1. ISFED performs monitoring of the elections in all election districts of Georgia by means of 73 long-term observers. During the reporting period one important trend that was identified was alleged pressure on election candidates of opposition parties.
