Project objectives

The overall goal of the project is to contribute to accomplishing free and fair conduct of the 2021 Municipal elections in Georgia. More specifically, the project will have three objectives:

· Provide the public with independent and impartial assessment of the pre- and post-election period based on in-depth research/monitoring and reporting of electoral violations;

· Improve awareness of representatives of local self-government institutions and media outlets on election-related regulations, procedures and responsibilities;

· Measure attitudes and perceptions of Georgian voters towards elections;

Project activities

· Investigative electoral research into the sophisticated violations and practices of the election administration;

· Enhancing legal expertise of ISFED’s regional offices;

· Assessment of spending of municipal authorities in the context of elections;

· Trainings for municipal agency employees on election regulations and responsibilities;

· Trainings for regional media representatives on election regulations and responsibilities;

· Opinion poll on public perceptions and attitudes towards elections (carried out in partnership with CRRC Georgia)

In addition, ISFED aims to strengthen its institutional capacities and operational procedures.
